I was a fan of Roberta Leigh quite by accident and I was surprised at how well written and engaging this book was.

Tim, Robert, and Lindsey's story is great in character development. You grow with Lindsey's attitude, you're surprised by Tim's changing persona, and you root for Robert. It's amazing how detailed she went with Lindsey's feelings and how you were able to get a sense of Tim and Robert's feelings as they interacted with Lindsey. I had no idea who to root for between Tim and Robert as they both were striving for Lindsey's heart.

It was a perfect love triangle with a satisfying ending.

The struggles of Lindsey's childhood has shaped her into a high achieving career woman. Whilst reflecting maturity beyond her younger age she still has massive insecurities, especially around Tim's family. Tim had a privileged upbringing and lacks maturity despite the six-year difference. What annoyed me is his complete lack of disregard being caught out snogging his voluptuous childhood friend, shirt unbuttoned in the heat of passion on the lounge but he is angry w Lindsey for making a mountain out of a molehill. He punishes Lindsay by doing the bolt and Lindsay tracks Tim down, two days later, conveniently staying with said voluptuous friend who also berates Lindsay for making much ado over nothing. Seriously?!
It was well written but it was STILL Lindsay's fault to over-react to Tim's little moment and although Tim had finally grown up and achieved huge corporate success during the two year separation, he still couldn't see the problem w hot-snogging Patsy while wifey was working away. Humility and apology would have gone a long way.
That said, I enjoyed and agree with other reviewers perspective.
4 Stars! I couldn't put this book down. It was such a quick angsty read with two hardheaded characters that had grown so much by the end of this book.
